Why did Mark Richt not get ejected last night?

by:Jack Pilgrim12/31/17

Late in the second quarter of last night’s Orange Bowl featuring the Miami Hurricanes and the Wisconsin Badgers, we saw a side of Mark Richt we didn’t know existed. The referees missed a holding call against the Badgers, and the Miami head coach went berserk on the entire officiating crew.

Take a look:

Yep, that’s an obvious arm grab, a violation that led to a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

But no ejection.

Needless to say, it brought a lot of attention to the Benny Snell situation from Kentucky’s loss in the Music City Bowl.

As a result, Snell was trending nationally yet again, as people couldn’t help but comment on Richt getting away with far worse than what the Kentucky running back was accused of.

If you type in “Mark Richt Benny Snell” in the Twitter search, the support for Snell from not just Kentucky fans, but college football fans across America, is overwhelming.

I don’t think anyone expected a six-carry, 15-yard performance to put Benny Snell on the map nationally, but it seems to be working just fine.
