Wikipedia confirms it: Jorts ARE Josh Harrellson

by:Bryan1303/29/11
Sometimes you have to wonder if the things we obsess over as Kentucky fans really resonate as far as we like to think they do.  Do people really care about Enes Kanter or Anthony Davis' alleged pay or the John Wall dance.  Because that is all we get in the state, I think we can get convinced that people nationwide care too.  Often that is not the case.  I thought the same thing about Josh Harrellson and Jorts.  We know the nickname, but did the nation really know or care?  Not until the tournament.  And now, in the ultimate form of flattery, it has been made official that Harrellson and Jorts are one in the same. A total of 5 sentences were written about Jorts on wikipedia.  2 of those 5 sentences were related to Harrellson.  The entire post: "Jean shorts, occasionally called jorts, are a garment worn by women or men that covers the pelvic area, the buttocks, and the legs. They are simply made from denim. Some restrict "jorts" in particular to self-cropped pants made from denim (cut-off jeans), while others broaden them to include denim shorts cropped, hemmed, and sometimes even pleated at the knee. Currently, University of Kentucky men's basketball post player Josh Harrellson has become an upstart college star and has earned the nickname "Jorts" for his love of the garment. Many Wildcat fans have followed Harrellson's trend by wearing "jorts" in support for the fan favorite senior." I would guess 2 or 3 million people look up Jorts on wikipedia daily.  Or is that an overstatement?  Nonetheless, once you have made wikipedia, you know you have made it.  It's not the great play against Sullinger and Zeller.  No, it's the wikipedia page.  So congrats Josh, you are a celebrity.
