"Wildcat Legends to honor Coach Joe B. Hall at Saturday's game
The popular “Wildcat Legends” Fine Art Series will unveil a new, SPECIAL EDITION tribute print this Saturday, when 1978 National Championship and Hall of Fame Coach, Joe B. Hall, will be honored with a beautiful new Fine Art print by artist David Bryan Blondell.
Hall’s “Art Release Ceremony” will be held this Saturday, March 5th at Your Frame of Mind Galleries in the Rupp Arena/Lexington Center mall food court from 12:00 noon — 1:45, immediately before the 2:00 pm UK-LSU game. Coach Hall will be on hand to unveil the commemorative print of him for all fans, regardless if they have tickets to the game or not. In addition to Coach Hall’s signature on the print, patrons will also be invited to have their picture taken with him with a print purchase.
In the painting, the beloved former coach is featured from his days as a UK player, to his coaching apprenticeship under Adolph Rupp, to the pinnacle of his career: cutting down the nets after winning the ’78 NCAA title. The art’s composition also features scenes of Coach Hall instructing three of his most popular players during his 13-year tenure: Kenny Walker, Jack Givens, and Kyle Macy.
(AS A BONUS, their signatures will also be on the print! Walker will be on hand in person to do so, and possibly Macy as well, depending on his broadcasting commitment that day. Givens will pre-sign prints because of a business commitment that day, and the artist will also be available to sign in person.)
NOTE: Due to the limited number of prints that Coach Hall will sign, the larger 18” x 14” print size, and the 5 total autographs on each, these special edition prints are priced at $75 each. All other “Wildcat Legends” prints are priced from $35 to $45 signed ($20 unsigned), as 11” X 17” high-quality prints.
“Wildcat Legends” is a collectible series of Fine Art prints from original, individual player paintings by national sports artist and Kentucky native, David Bryan Blondell, honoring living UK stars from the 60’s through the 90’s. Each star’s individual art print features a compilation of action poses of him during his time at UK. Fans may choose to collect any one or all.
