Will Levis Injury Update: "I just want to play ball"
Should Will Levis suit up or shut it down for the season? That’s the big debate here in Nashville as the Titans’ rookie quarterback continues to recover from the ankle injury he suffered in the overtime loss to the Texans on Dec. 17. The Titans are officially eliminated from playoff contention, so the best they can hope for in their final two games is to play spoiler to division foes Houston and Jacksonville — and avoid another quarterback injury.
Levis sat out last Sunday’s game vs. Seattle, with Ryan Tannehill stepping back into the starting role and almost leading the Titans to the upset. Levis participated in practice today and told reporters that his ankle is feeling better thanks to round-the-clock treatment by the training staff.
“It’s good, it’s coming along well. I’m doing everything I can to get it back. We’ll see how this week goes, and I’m taking it day by day.”
Mike Vrabel said he hopes Levis will be able to go on Sunday at Houston. Right now, Levis said there isn’t anything he can’t do on his ankle; it’s just a matter of pain tolerance. Even though the Titans’ offensive line continues to be terrible, Levis said if he has it his way, he will play the final two games.
“I just want to play ball,” Levis said. “I just want to go out there and win games and leave this season with a good taste in my mouth.”

If Levis does play on Sunday, he’ll get another shot at a Texans defense he saw two weeks ago; he may also get to play against fellow rookie quarterback CJ Stroud, who sat out the first matchup due to a concussion.
“I’d love to compete with him,” Levis said of the former Ohio State star. “He’s a heck of a player. Never got to compete against him in college. Watching him from afar and what he’s been able to do, it’s been really impressive. Hopefully, he’s getting better here soon. It’d be a lot of fun to compete against him.”
Another note from practice: when asked about Christmas gift exchanges, Levis and Tannehill said they got the offensive line suitcases and watches. If that’s not an indicator it’s time for them to go, I’m not sure what is.
Check out some footage of Levis in practice below. If he does play on Sunday and the week after, pray for him.
