Will Levis is one step closer to playing for the Titans
The Tennessee Titans lost to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in London by a score of 24-16, however, their biggest blow came by way of injury to starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. In the third quarter, Tannehill had to be carted off the field to get x-rays taken on his ankle, after suffering an injury. For Kentucky football fans, this means Will Levis vaulted up to the role of backup quarterback.
Malik Willis finished the game for the Titans, but save for a screen pass that Tyjae Spears broke for 48 yards, Willis did not look stellar. The second-year player out of Liberty was constantly under pressure from a strong Ravens defense and looked uncomfortable on nearly every play.

Ryan Tannehill, who was on crutches after the game, does not yet have a prognosis, however, if he were to miss time, Will Levis could be in line for his first action in the NFL. Levis has yet to be officially active for the Titans this season, instead garnering the distinction of emergency quarterback. If Tannehill needs multiple weeks to recover, Levis would certainly become Tennessee’s backup and be one Malik Willis injury or bad performance away from taking the reigns under center.
One factor that could impact an active Will Levis is that the Titans are on a bye next week, giving Tannehill additional time to recover. We would never wish sustained injury upon anyone, but it would be great to see Will Levis make his professional debut in the near future.
