Will Levis is a "Sponge" at Manning Passing Academy
Will Levis is spending his week in Peyton and Eli Manning’s back pocket. One of 40+ college quarterbacks attending the Manning Passing Academy this week in Louisiana, the Kentucky quarterback is trying to learn as much as he possibly can from the unique experience.
“I want to be a sponge and soak up as much information as I can from these guys,” he told reporters this week. “Every one of these quarterbacks has something we can learn from each other. And obviously Peyton and Eli, with their experience, it’s so invaluable. To ask them questions — I’m making sure I am spending as much time as I can without bugging them too much. I just can’t wait to take advantage of this.”
Serving as a camp counselor at Nicholls State through Sunday, Levis was one of the best of the best in Friday’s Air-It-Out Challenge. In the skills competition between all of the college quarterbacks on campus, Levis advanced to the finals against Texas A&M’s Max Johnson.
Not only does Levis have a chance to show off his rocket arm, but prove to the Hall of Fame family that he has the composure to be among the sport’s best.

“Honestly, one thing that’s maybe overlooked is this is an opportunity for us guys to show how we operate as individuals, as a person, with all of these people we look up to. It’s an opportunity to be respectful, act the way you’re expected to act in a professional setting. We’re here to work,” Levis said.
The Manning Passing Academy isn’t all about self-improvement. The skills Levis learns from the talented quarterbacks will help him grow and push his Kentucky team to new heights. The goal this season isn’t for Levis to earn individual accolades. He wants to win in Atlanta.
“We’re improving from last year,” said Levis. “Everyday we’re working on getting in there and making sure that all of our actions and all of our thoughts are in-line with our goal, which is to go to the SEC Championship and win that thing. We came up short last year, and even though a 10-win season not common for us, we have higher aspirations and we want to take this program to the next echelon. We’ve been working our tails off, making sure that we’re in there doing as much as we can to get prepared for camp.”
