Will Levis still Top 5 in Mel Kiper's latest NFL Mock Draft
We are 16 days away from the NFL Draft and where Will Levis ends up is still very much up in the air. Today, Levis is in Nashville to meet with the Tennessee Titans, who hold the No. 11 pick but could trade up to get their quarterback of choice to succeed Ryan Tannehill.
This morning, ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. released a new mock draft that has the Titans trading up to get a quarterback, but it’s not Levis. Kiper projects the Titans to trade with Arizona for the No. 3 pick and take Florida’s Anthony Richardson. Richardson seems like the latest draft darling following his performance at the NFL Combine, but count me among those who don’t want to take a chance on what feels like a bust. Right, Keidron Smith?
Titans draft fears aside, Kiper has Levis going No. 4 to the Indianapolis Colts, the fourth quarterback off the board behind Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, and Richardson. Kiper remains high on Levis while a lot of pundits dropped the Kentucky quarterback out of their top tens and even first rounds in recent weeks.
“I’m sticking with Levis to Indianapolis here,” Kiper wrote in today’s update. “General manager Chris Ballard could get lucky with my second-ranked quarterback still on the board. Why do I like Levis over Stroud and Richardson? Because of his ability both in and out of the pocket. In 2021, when Levis was really on, he made ‘wow’ throws to every part of the field and also ran for nine scores. Last season, while dealing with injuries and after losing a lot of talent around him, he forced too many throws and was inconsistent. I think Levis’ floor is high, and he’ll be able to start immediately for the Colts.”
Kiper went on “Get Up” this morning and doubled down on his Levis-to-Indy prediction.
“My thing would be who’s going to move up to get Will Levis? I didn’t want to project another trade that way. It distorts the first round. So I think the Colts can sit there and take him. They want to go young over the veteran at the end of their career. Since Andrew Luck, they haven’t had good luck in that way.”

“Now you can pick your guy if you feel Levis is worthy of being the fourth pick overall. I do, some people don’t,” continued Kiper. “We’ll see what the Colts think in a few weeks.”
The Colts were in Lexington last week to watch Levis work out. According to Albert Breer, Levis will also visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Pick No. 19) and the Atlanta Falcons (Pick No. 8) this week. As someone who is rooting for Levis to be a Titan, I just hope today’s visit goes well. Take him to Bourbon Steak, Vrabel.
Will Levis NFL Mock Draft Rundown
Albert Breer reports that Levis scored a 93 on his S2 test, a cognitive assessment to measure processing speed that some teams use to evaluate quarterbacks, which is not far off Bryce Young’s mark. Levis remains No. 4 on Kiper’s new Big Board behind Georgia DT Jalen Carter, Young, and Alabama OLB Will Anderson. Yesterday, Dane Brugler released “The Beast,” his annual NFL Draft guide over at The Athletic and Levis is the No. 4 quarterback and No. 14 overall player in his rankings.
Here’s a rundown of where Levis stands in all the latest mock drafts:
- ESPN’s Mel Kiper (Updated 4/11): No. 4 – Indianapolis
- ESPN’s Todd McShay (Updated 4/4): No. 14 – Tampa Bay (via NE)
- Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Hanson (Updated 4/11): No. 10 – Tampa Bay (via PHI, via NO)
- The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner (Updated 4/7): No. 16 – Washington
- The Ringer’s Danny Kelly (Updated 4/3): No. 11 – Tennessee
- CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco (Updated 4/6): No. 7 – Las Vegas

- CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso (Updated 4/10): No. 4 – Indianapolis
- CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards (Updated 4/10): No. 3 – Tennessee
Just over two weeks until we’ll know for sure.
