You can bet on Will Levis eating a banana at the NFL Draft
We are 31.5 hours away from the start of the NFL Draft and the internet is still in a tizzy over Will Levis. In case you missed it yesterday, Levis’ odds to be picked first in the draft soared, which may or may not be because a Reddit poster claimed Levis told friends and family that the Carolina Panthers will take him with the first pick. Those odds eventually leveled out, with Levis now the second favorite to be taken first behind Bryce Young at most sportsbooks, but the former Kentucky quarterback remains the talk of the sport on Draft Eve.
This morning, sportsbook BetOnline.ag released new prop bets for the draft. I had to laugh when I saw that you can bet on whether or not Levis will be shown eating an entire banana during the NFL Draft broadcast. Currently, the odds that he will are +700 (7/1), and that he won’t are -2000 (1/20). It’s been almost two years since the clip of Levis eating the brown banana with the peel on surfaced on TikTok but NFL Twitter only discovered it in the past few weeks and is absolutely mesmerized.
I would think eating a banana with the peel on would be proof someone is not tightly wound, but rather loose and willing to do something silly, but what do I know?
Over at CBS Sports, NFL insider Pete Prisco made the case for Levis to be the No. 1 overall pick, calling him the best quarterback in the class.
Indianapolis Colts still trending for Levis
The next 31.5 hours will be chaotic as rumors fly about potential trades and where the top prospects will go. Yesterday’s madness aside, ESPN’s Matt Miller still believes the Indianapolis Colts will select Levis with the fourth pick.
“I’ve heard consistent buzz since the NFL combine in March that the Colts fell for quarterback Will Levis during interviews and his workout, and that those sentiments have only intensified since the organization has gotten to better know the senior passer. Levis, a two-year starter at Kentucky, is seen internally as pro-ready and comes with the stamp of approval from the Manning family — which carries weight in Indianapolis. Levis at No. 4 overall is a favorite projection among NFL sources I spoke to this week.”

In that same article, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler says he believes CJ Stroud’s stock has taken a hit due to his S2 cognition test score. If you’re unfamiliar with the S2, it’s a test many teams in the league use to measure players’ decision-making. Last week, The Athletic published the S2 scores of this year’s quarterback class. Alabama’s Bryce Young finished first with a 98, followed by Fresno State’s Jake Haener with a 96, and Levis with a 93. Florida’s Anthony Richardson scored a 79%, Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker 46%, and Stroud 18%.
Last week, Levis overtook Stroud as the top betting choice for the No. 2 pick. Right now, Texas Tech EDGE Tyree Wilson is the favorite to be taken second at most sportsbooks, with Levis not far behind. Levis is currently the betting favorite to go fourth, which lines up with all the Indy talk.
If you’re wondering, Levis has arrived in Kansas City. This morning, he and Anthony Richardson participated in a Play60 event to kick off the draft festivities:
Nick Roush, Adam Luckett, and our videographer Steven Peake are en route to Kansas City to cover the draft in the most ridiculous manner possible. We’ll have plenty of coverage on the site, but make sure you’re subscribed to the YouTube channel so you don’t miss a second of their shenanigans. Roush packed a box of very ripe bananas for a segment you won’t want to miss.
