Will Levis No. 1 Overall? One NFL Draft Analyst Predicts It
The Will Levis Hype Train is reaching unprecedented speeds this offseason and nothing is knocking it off the tracks anytime soon.
Now more than a week removed from the NFL Draft, more seasoned vets have sprinkled in projections for 2023. In the first week of the new draft cycle there were seven different publications that predicted a Top 10 selection for Levis. Now one CBS Sports analyst is taking it a step further.
Kenny Pickett was the only quarterback taken with the first 73 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. The quarterbacks’ slide happened for two reasons. One, this year’s crop of quarterbacks was not as talented. Two, many believe the 2023 class is loaded with talented gunslingers.
There’s a general consensus that Alabama‘s Bryce Young and Ohio State‘s CJ Stroud lead the way. CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso does not believe that is necessarily the case. In his first 2023 NFL mock draft, Will Levis is the No. 1 overall pick, taken off the board by the Houston Texans.

Levis feels like a quarterback who can eventually be the No. 1 overall pick. He’s big, chiseled, has a rocket for an arm and can scramble. The Texans will probably be in the quarterback market in a big way next offseason.

If Mr. Trapasso is indeed a fortune teller, Levis would follow Tim Couch as Kentucky’s second No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Only 17 college football programs have had more than one top NFL Draft pick.
There’s still a lot of work to do before Levis can hear his name called in the NFL Draft. Even though he believes he can be the top player in next year’s draft, right now his mock draft popularity means nothing. “It’s cool, but I mean, it doesn’t matter,” he said last week. “I just want to keep doing and working on what’s gotten me so far.”
