Kentucky MBB head coach John Calipari brought his annual Women’s Clinic back to Memorial Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. The ladies of Kentucky loved every minute of the fun-filled day.

Kentucky Players Showing Love

Upon arrival, the women were able to get autographs from each player on this year’s roster. It was clear that the girls were loving the big personalities of all of the members of the team.

There were definitely a lot of selfies being taken with the players and lots of hugs to go around as well. The first hour or so of the clinic was allotted to ensure that each participant would get their chance to take pictures with everyone.

Coach Cal and his wife, Ellen, were also taking pictures and giving out autographs to the ladies.

Dedicated Women From Big Blue Nation

I was fortunate enough to speak with some women from Glasgow, KY who have been coming to the Women’s Clinic for years. Alison Campbell, Jessica Wells and Krista Ross are all University of Kentucky alums and when asked what always draws them to come back to the clinic each year they said, “the interaction with the players, they’ll go out so you can take selfies with them, they talk to you.”

All of them said it was a close race between Sahvir Wheeler and Oscar Tshiebwe for the title of who was their favorite for this season. We could all agree that no other team in college basketball this season is beating the personalities in this group.

The Princess Makes Her Entrance

After the autographs and pictures, the team was introduced and fan favorite Ellen Calipari made quite the entrance following a short welcome from her husband.

After the introductions, the women were split into two groups. One group was taken to do some training with the new strength and conditioning coach, Brady Welsh. The other group got some shots up with the players and coaches. Each group also got to do a Q&A with Coach Cal and Ellen in his office.

Getting Gains With the Guys

The ladies were enjoying learning some new ways to train, especially with the help of Jacob Toppin and assistant coach, Chin Coleman.

Everyone Loves Big O

By the end of the day, it was clear who the girls loved the most. There was a line to get a picture with Oscar Tshiebwe and it just kept growing. How could you not love someone who can rock those sunglasses?

Lastly, Coach Cal closed out the day with a big thank you from the team, and it was easy to tell that the ladies of Big Blue Nation were not disappointed by their day full of festivities with the program.
