College football roster turnover has amplified year after year since the addition of the transfer portal. This fall Kentucky added 15 new players from the portal along with 34 freshmen. That’s a lot of new names, numbers and faces to get to know.

Kentucky football media day is the best opportunity to put some names and faces to numbers, but that’s only a part of the equation. You can ask them “Why did you pick Kentucky?” or “What do you hope to get out of fall camp?” until you’re blue in the face. That’s no fun, especially when you’re talking to a bunch of freshmen that aren’t used to having a camera in their face.

To break the ice and learn a little more about the personality behind the recruiting profile, KSR came prepared with a game of “Would You Rather?” Along with the general nonsense, there’s a couple of important football questions packed into this video, such as, “Would you rather player in a hot, humid football game, or in a cold, windy atmosphere?” The results may surprise you.

KSR spoke with a bunch of Kentucky running backs — Ray Davis, Ramon Jefferson, Jamarion Wilcox and Demie Sumo-Karngbaye. We also connected with All-American tight end Khamari Anderson, wide receivers Shamar Porter and Anthony Brown, who confirmed his famous uncle, John Legend, will be at a game this fall.

Also, I owe an apology to Kendrick Gilbert. Not only was my video quality poor, but I failed to submit his line of questions to the brains behind the Kentucky Sports Radio A/V operation, Steven Peake. Don’t worry though, you can still see the conversation with the four-star defensive end in all of its glory.
