The offseason has barely started, but Kentucky has already seen three wide receivers announce their intentions to leave the program through the transfer portal. Luckily, an important piece to next year’s pass-catching puzzle isn’t going anywhere.

On Thursday night, Ja’Mori Maclin announced on social media that he’s returning to Kentucky for the 2025 season. “Here to stay. #BBN” he wrote on X/Twitter. It will be the sixth college season for the 5-foot-11, 190-yard wide receiver.

During the 2024 season, his first with the Wildcats, Maclin recorded 13 catches for 313 yards and a team-high four touchdowns across 12 games played. In 2023 at North Texas, he hauled in 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns.

There was speculation once Kentucky’s season ended last weekend that Maclin might look for another home. That noise grew louder once wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts left the program for the same job at Nebraska. But Maclin is comfortable sticking around and will be a key piece to next season’s wide receivers room.

Over the last couple of days, the Wildcats have seen star wide-outs Barion Brown and Dane Key announce their plans to go portaling. Fellow pass-catcher Anthony Brown-Stephens did the same, as well. With Kentucky’s quarterback situation still somewhat in the air, keeping some talent at wide receiver is significant.

Welcome back, Ja’Mori.
