WVU OL transfer Dylan Ray commits to Kentucky
How about some added depth to the Big Blue Wall to get your Saturday rolling? Mark Stoops and the Kentucky football staff found it in West Virginia transfer Dylan Ray, who announced his commitment to the Wildcats late this morning.
“First off I want to thank West Virginia University, Coach Joseph and Coach Moore for everything they have done for me throughout the past 2 years,” Ray said. “With that being said I am happy to announce my commitment to University of Kentucky!”
A native of Noblesville, Indiana, the redshirt freshman played 32 offensive snaps for the Mountaineers in his first season of action in 2022. He previously redshirted in 2021.
Named offensive line MVP as a senior at Noblesville High, he helped lead the Millers to the Class 6A sectional playoffs. Ray was a multiple-year starter and letter-winner for his school.

Standing 6-5, 293 pounds, he was a walk-on under Neal Brown at West Virginia.
Ray’s addition comes following the departures of offensive linemen David Wohlabaugh Jr. and Deondre Buford, who hit the portal on April 30 and May 1, respectively. The program previously lost Kiyaunta Goodwin (Florida) and John Young (Miami (OH)) to transfer. Kentucky added Marques Cox (Northern Illinois), Tanner Bowles (Alabama), Courtland Ford (USC) and Ben Christman (Ohio State) on the line this offseason, solidifying the starting lineup and the majority of rotation pieces.
Still, though, depth has been an issue and Ray provides the line another body to work with going into the fall.
