Xavier transfer Dailyn Swain is planning a visit to Kentucky, according to On3’s Joe Tipton, although no date has been confirmed at this time.

After two seasons at Xavier, Swain entered his name into the transfer portal last week following news that Musketeers head coach Sean Miller was taking the same job at Texas. As a sophomore this past season, Swain averaged 11 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals in 28.5 minutes per outing. The 6-foot-8 forward started 33 of his 34 games played while shooting 53.2 percent from the field and 81.7 percent from the free throw line.

Swain, who has two years of eligibility remaining, is currently on a visit to Texas with his former head coach. A trip to Arkansas is also in the works.

A native of Columbus, OH, Swain is considered the 20th-best available prospect in the portal by On3 and the top-ranked small forward. As a freshman at Xavier, he was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team after posting per-game averages of 4.6 points, three rebounds, 1.2 assists, and one steal in 18.9 minutes. Swain’s production took a significant leap as a sophomore.

The best game of his 2024-25 campaign actually came in his team’s season finale. Against Illinois in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 64, Swain went for 27 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals on 10-17 shooting in a loss. He finished the season with three double-doubles and was a double-digit scorer 22 times.

A notable knock on Swain’s game related to Mark Pope‘s offensive system is his lack of three-point shooting. Swain shot 15.4 percent from deep as a freshman and then just 25 percent as a sophomore on less than one attempt per game. However, he’s a career 81.6 percent shooter from the line — the potential is there for him to be an average to above-average outside shooter.
