Kentucky has picked up its first football commitment for the class of 2021.
This evening, 2021 three-star linebacker Devon Williams committed to Kentucky over offers from Michigan, West Virginia, Michigan State, Nebraska, Arkansas, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, and Iowa State, among others.
“I want to start off by thanking God for blessing me with great talent & abilities,” Williams wrote on Twitter. “I also want to thank my Mom, Dad, Grandparents, Coaches, & many others. Thank you for all the sacrifices made to help me get to where I am today. Through the ups & downs you have all been there for me, guiding & pushing me forward. Thank you & I love you all.
“I want to thank all the coaches that have recruited me,” Williams continued. “I’m so blessed to be in this position & have the options I have. Lastly, I want to announce my commitment to the University of Kentucky. I know for the next 3-4 years this University will help maximize my potential as a student, young man & athlete. I will continue to work hard both in the classroom & on the field. I can’t wait to arrive at my new home. #BBN”

Kentucky first offered Williams back in February, the first SEC school to extend a scholarship to the three-star talent.
After the commitment, Vince Marrow – Williams’ lead recruiter – showed his excitement on social media.
