Yaxel Lendeborg Meets with Mark Pope in Chicago

UAB’s Yaxel Lendeborg entered the transfer portal on Monday, and Kentucky has wasted no time making a push. Sources tell KSR+ that Kentucky head coach Mark Pope met with Lendeborg in Chicago on Monday.
During the 2024-25 season, Lendeborg started all 37 games at UAB posting per-game averages of 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.7 steals in 33.6 minutes per outing. He shot 52.2 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three-point range, and 75.7 percent from the free throw line.

KSR’s Ryan Lemond’s mentioned the news during Tuesday morning’s radio show. Lemond said he expects Kentucky to land San Diego State’s Magoon Gwath and Robert Morris’ Alvaro Folgueiras by the end of the week.
Kentucky isn’t the only school making a push for Lendeborg. On3’s Joe Tipton reported Monday that Arkansas, Kentucky, BYU, Auburn, Michigan, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgetown, and Memphis reached out.
