Your first look at Kentucky in EA Sports College Football 25

Are you ready to virtually take over Wildcats and lead Kentucky to glory in the new 12-team model of the CFB Playoffs? We’re just two weeks away from the release of EA Sports College Football 25, bringing back the popular video game series for the first time since 2014 with excitement at an all-time high.

EA Sports continues to drop crumbs here and there to build the hype ahead of the July 19 release — or three days earlier for folks who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition and MVP Bundle — the latest example being the Dynasty Deep Dive.

ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit narrated the behind-the-scenes look at the game mode that allows users to build their own programs from the ground up using high school and portal recruiting, conference realignment, coaching identities as the head man or coordinator, the carousel and much, much more.

Included in the six-minute clip? Our first look at Kentucky, the Wildcats given a grade of 82 overall — 81 on offense, 84 on defense.

A separate screen grab gives us our first look at Kroger Field during live game action, Barion Brown scoring a touchdown — doesn’t get more accurate than that — in front of a sea of blue and white.

The detail there is pretty fantastic, down to the signage for C.M. Newton Grounds at Kroger Field, the recruiting room, marching band and the new-and-improved solid blue end zone.

Take a look:

Keep in mind that the screen grab also notes that the renderings are not final and the current look “represents a game in development,” which means it’s only going to get better than this. It’s also a potential sign that the rankings shown in the Dynasty Deep Dive may not be totally accurate — Georgia, Alabama and LSU were given 95, 92 and 90 grades in the official team power rankings released last week, but 90, 89 and 86 in the video preview.

We’re going to choose to believe that it’s a mix-up or small detail related to the user-controlled dynasty for the preview video, not the official team rating for the Wildcats — an egregious one, if so.

We can worry about all of that here in a few weeks, a whole summer to talk about the rankings and virtual championships we’ll be winning. Until then, we’ll just enjoy the latest nuggets released by EA Sports, including our first look at Kentucky.

Counting down the days until July 19? Don’t worry, so are we.
