After being suspended indefinitely from the Kentucky women’s basketball team for “disciplinary matters” in late November, Kyra Elzy has made the decision to dismiss Zennia Thomas from the team.

In an official statement from UK Athletics, Elzy was noted saying, “We hold our players to a high standard at Kentucky. Unfortunately, when someone does not consistently meet those standards, I have to make the tough decision to dismiss them from the program. We wish Zennia and her family nothing but the best moving forward.”

Thomas averaged 1.4 points and 1.1 rebounds per game during her time at Kentucky. This season, the 6-2 sophomore was averaging 2.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. Her last game appearance came against Cincinnati where she scored one point and grabbed three rebounds in 17 minutes of play.

Kentucky is 6-3 since Thomas’ suspension was put into effect.
