Zvonimir Ivisic speaks out: "I'm hoping to hear that I can play soon."
Big Z is asking to be freed.
Amid growing concern regarding his eligibility status and what could come next if the NCAA holds off much longer on a final decision, Zvonimir Ivisic has spoken out. The 7-foot-2 forward says he talked with John Calipari about going home for the holidays, but hopes to be cleared and suit up at Kentucky soon.
“I met with Coach Cal and discussed going home for the holidays,” Ivisic wrote on social media. “My family and I worked really hard to gain admission to Kentucky, which took quite a while. With the ups and downs of this process, it’s been stressful and emotional for me and my family, but I can tell all of BBN that I’ve done everything I can. I’ve obtained a 3.25 GPA. I love this school. I love my teammates and going against other great players every day in practice. I love being coached and challenged and I’m hoping to hear that I can play soon. Go BBN!!”
Previously signing with the program on August 14, Ivisic arrived on campus back on October 12 following a long, frustrating admissions process. Over two months later and a third of the way through the regular season, the 7-2 freshman continues to wait for an answer from the NCAA regarding his eligibility.
