2024 Natchitoches Central (La.) offensive lineman Joseph Cryer committed to LSU, he announced on Twitter on Monday. The Tigers offered and hosted the three-star prospect on Thursday for an unofficial visit.

“First off I would like to thank god for putting me in this position,” he tweeted. “I also want to thank my family for helping me out through this process!!! With that being said I’m a 100 % committed to Louisiana State University!!”

After watching his tape again, LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis made the move to offer Cryer, who was committed to Ole Miss since June. It was a long time coming for the in-state prospect.

“Been waiting on it, I’m excited,” Cryer told On3 after the offer. “Means a lot being an in-state guy. I’ve been to LSU already. The visit was amazing. Loved getting to spend time with the staff again.

“There isn’t anything like it. I grew up watching LSU so it meant a lot to me! I want to put on for the state of Louisiana and win championships.”

Brad Davis reels in Joseph Cryer

Davis impressed him with his personality and he eyed him to upgrade the interior of the offensive line. Cryer decommitted from the Rebels on Sunday.

“Just told me I’m a in-state guy who is real tough and physical and he needs me to come help fix the interior,” he said. “I love him! He’s a great person and great guy. He is fired up. He told me I can play a big role on LSU’s football team as a freshman.”

The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder is the No. 83 interior offensive lineman and No. 33 overall prospect in Louisiana in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Cryer is the latest lineman to commit to Davis, who now holds pledges from in-state offensive lineman Khayree Lee, four-star offensive tackle Ethan Calloway and three-star offensive tackle Ory Williams.
