2025 RB Jaylon Nichols bursts onto the scene this fall

2025 Monroe (La.) Neville running back Jaylon Nichols is taking over the lead back role for the Tigers this fall. With Ajay Allen graduated and off to Nebraska, Nichols is getting the starting role at Neville.
Even as a sophomore, he’s stepped into the spotlight flawlessly, making plenty of plays Friday night in a win over Shreveport (La.) Huntington.
“Lot of hard work in practice. Shoutout coach (Leonard) Ceaser for getting me right,” Nichols told On3. “It was just (LSU five-star commit) Zalance Heard, offensive line did good tonight on blocks and stuff. It feels great. There’s not much I can say about that except just having fun out here is the key.”
So far, the 5-11, 175-pound play maker is off to a big start. The 49-12 win was a bounce back from last week, but one player who has been consistent is Nichols.

“My season’s been good. Rushing for 100 yards every game, just had three touchdowns tonight, had two last week,” Nichols said. “Just have to keep working. My strength is my speed.”
While his sophomore year is off to a huge start, Jaylon Nichols is waiting on recruiting to pick up. As far as if he’ll take any visits this fall, he added that he’d go see “anybody” as he awaits his first offer.
