4-star Louisiana ATH Ju'Juan Johnson commits to LSU
2024 Lafayette Christian Academy athlete Ju’Juan Johnson committed to LSU, he announced on Monday on the Culotta Show. The former Colorado commit cancelled him summer official visits and was on LSU’s campus to kick off the week.
Johnson checks in as the No. 220 player in the country, No. 22 cornerback in the nation and No. 7 prospect in Louisiana, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
The Tigers overcame Deion Sanders & Co., Florida, Georgia and many others to land his commitment. It was an all-out effort from Brian Kelly’s staff to reel him in.
“Every time I go there, it’s family. Every time I text them, it’s like I’m a part of their family and already a part of the environment there,” Johnson said of LSU earlier this year. “Coach (Robert) Steeples is doing a good job of recruiting me. He talks to me almost every week and texts me every chance he gets. It feels great being of that ride, too.”

With the 15 commitments they have now, LSU’s class ranks as the No. 11 class in the country and No. 6 in the SEC. The Tigers boasted the No. 5 class in the country and No. 3 in the SEC for the 2023 recruiting cycle.
Johnson helps continue LSU’s run of commitments from Louisiana. The Tigers now hold pledges from five of the state’s top 10 prospects in the 2024 recruiting class. The top two prospects — Dominick McKinley and Wardell Mack — remain uncommitted, but the Tigers lead the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for both prospects.
