2025 Shreveport (La.) Captain Shreve offensive lineman Devin Harper is already one of the top offensive linemen in America. The 6-5, 287-pounder is in Baton Rouge on Saturday for an unofficial visit to LSU.
The in-state Tigers lead the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. It’s a whole staff effort for the in-state program.
“I like the staff and Baton Rouge is just a wonderful place. Coach Brad Davis, Carl St. Cyr, Sherman Wilson, JR Belton, all those guys. They’re on me heavy,” Harper told On3 last month. “I feel the love from LSU so I like it there. They’re back. I know they have a few not standard LSU years, but now they’re back up there competing for a National Championship.”
LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis is pushing hard for Harper, who worked out at camp this summer for Davis. He’s battling the likes of Georgia, TCU, Texas Tech, Oregon and others for his signature.

“Before coaching, he’s a great guy. He really cares about you as a person. We’ve been just building that relationship far from football, not on football,” he said. “He’s a good guy overall, a great coach and I feel like he develops guys at a high level. He keeps it real. Anything you do wrong, he’s going to get on you. He knows that I’m a young guy so I don’t think he’s as hard on me, but he’s hard on me at the same time.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Harper ranks as the No. 221 overall prospect in the country, No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the nation and No. 6 prospect in Louisiana.
