5-star+ QB Bryce Underwood locks in another LSU visit
The LSU Tigers have the No. 1 recruiting class on the On3 Rankings and the On3 Industry Rankings, and nothing changed following the most recent update to the On300 this past week.
The Tigers hold the No. 1 spot on the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings over No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Clemson and No. 5 Notre Dame.
LSU has nine total commitments, and the group is headlined by a trio of On3 Industry 5-star prospects in quarterback Bryce Underwood, running back Harlem Berry and wide receiver Dakorien Moore.
Underwood, who is the top-ranked prospect in America, remained No. 1 overall on both On3 and the On3 Industry Rankings.
After committing to the Tigers in January, Underwood is now set to return to campus this weekend for LSU’s Junior Day on March 9, a source confirmed with The Bengal Tiger staff. The Tigers will also hold a spring practice on March 8.
Underwood also plans to visit for LSU’s Spring Game on April 13, which would give the Tigers a pair of visits in a month’s span.
The five-star quarterback will be on campus this weekend with all of LSU’s nine-man commitment list for the 2025 class, which includes the nation’s No. 1 running back in Berry and No. 1 wide receiver in Moore.

LSU will also host one of the staff’s top targets on offense in Louisiana four-star running back James Simon, as well as a slew of the nation’s best wide receivers.
When it comes to Underwood’s upside as a prospect, there’s a chance he goes wire-to-wire as the No. 1 recruit in America, regardless of position. With the most recent wave of updates to the 2025 class rankings, On3 National Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power felt Underwood’s junior season at Belleville High in Michigan was more than enough to hold on to his lofty ranking atop the 2025 class.
“Underwood continues to look like the top pure arm talent in the cycle,” Power said. “The ability to drive the ball to all levels of the field stands out at this stage. He also showed perhaps the best pocket movement among the group, sensing and reacting to pressure by moving vertically within the pocket.
“Underwood turned in another strong season in 2023 with the one of the best statistical passing years of any quarterback in the On300. The Belleville (Mich.) High standout completed 64.9% of his passes for 3,329 yards (a gaudy 12.4 yards per attempt) for 41 touchdowns against three interceptions. He also ran for seven touchdowns.
“Underwood should technically be a 2026 prospect, as he turns 17 in mid-August. Given his physical ability, on-field play and production and room for continued improvement, we don’t currently see a player with a higher long-term upside in the cycle.”
