The LSU football staff is on fire for the 2025 recruiting cycle, reeling in another commitment this week by adding another four-star to the No. 1 recruiting class in America.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are still trying to put the finishing touches on an impressive 2024 haul.

LSU checks in as the No. 3 class on the On3 Rankings for the 2024 class while sitting at No. 7 on the On3 Industry Team Rankings.

The class features a trio of On3 five-star recruits in offensive tackle Weston Davis, defensive tackle Dominick McKinley and tight end Trey’Dez Green.

Could another five-star join the fold?

On Wednesday, five-star Terry Bussey – the No. 1 athlete in the 2024 class – arrived on campus for a midweek visit.

Bussey, who made an official visit to LSU ahead of announcing his commitment to Texas A&M in September, didn’t sign with the Aggies during the Early Signing Period in December, instead choosing to push pause on his recruitment with staff shakeup among his top teams.

Texas A&M fired head coach Jimbo Fisher and hired former Duke head coach Mike Elko, while LSU head coach Brian Kelly parted ways with the entire on-field defensive staff in Baton Rouge and Alabama head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement.

With the coaching changes, Bussey chose to wait until February’s National Signing Day to ink with a college program. He remained committed to Texas A&M, and while LSU remained in the mix, Alabama was swapped out with Georgia following defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson’s move from Tuscaloosa to Athens.

The five-star visited Georgia on January 26, then gave LSU the final visit of the month when he arrived in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, January 31. Bussey will head to College Station for a visit at Texas A&M on February 2 before signing with a college on February 7.

Here’s what Bussey told On3 about his final three:

Texas A&M: “I’ve been getting to know the new staff. It’s been great building a relationship with Coach Elko, Coach Ish, and I’m building relationships with other coaches they already have on staff. They’re great guys, great people, they know a lot about football and they’re great football-minded people.”

Georgia: “Just building a relationship with (former Alabama and current UGA defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson) and just picking up from there over at his new place, it’s truly a blessing. They’re great people. They know a lot about the ball, and they know a lot about putting guys in the league and developing guys. Just building a relationship and taking a piece from them every time we talk is big.”

LSU: “They’ve been pushing and they’re still pushing. We have a great relationship and I talk to them every day. I talk to multiple people on that staff every day and it’s been great building a relationship with them.”
