BREAKING: Alabama WR Aaron Anderson commits to LSU
Brian Kelly said he wanted to prioritize Louisiana natives when looking at transfers and the Tigers got a big one on Sunday. Alabama transfer wide receiver Aaron Anderson committed to LSU, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Anderson was committed to LSU before Ed Orgeron was fired, signing with the Crimson Tide last December.
Anderson had just completed his freshman season with the Crimson Tide and did not record any stats after suffering an injury early in the year.
The 5-foot-9, 184-pound pass-catcher was an early enrollee and arrived on campus back in January.
Aaron Anderson did see some run with the first-team offense in the spring, but was mostly relegated to second-team duties during the spring game. He only brought in two of his six targets for 11 yards (5.5-yard average), but to be fair, none of the receivers stood out that day except for Christian Leary, mostly due to poor weather conditions.
Anderson played high school football for Edna Karr High School in New Orleans, where he was a four-star prospect. He ranked as the No. 36 overall player and No. 4 receiver in the class according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.

Aaron Anderson big piece in LSU’s recruiting finish
Kelly and his staff wrapped up hosting the last official visitors of 2022 with multiple top targets in Baton Rouge. On Wednesday, the early signing period begins and Kelly is looking at adding over 30 newcomers for 2023.
“We’re going to identify the best prospects throughout the country and you’ll see that in this signing class. We’ll have players from the northeast, the midwest, the west coast. But our base will be Louisiana and the south,” Kelly said on Saturday. “When you’re LSU and you have a brand that’s so recognizable, you can’t have blinders on either. Our scope and vision is national but it’s not like we’re pulling four guys out of every state. We’re gonna have a heavy influence in the state of Louisiana, like we should.”
LSU has 25 commitments in the 2023 recruiting class, which ranks No. 7 according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. Aaron Anderson is the first transfer commitment for LSU’s 2023 class.
