Amazon Prime's "The Money Game" brings first-look into NIL era

LSU has taken center stage as one of the leaders in the NIL era, and thanks to Amazon Prime, fans can get the behind-the-scenes view into how Tigers across multiple sports managed new NCAA legislation while being a student-athlete in Baton Rouge.

The Money Game is a compelling six-part docuseries that chronicles the introduction of the groundbreaking decision by the NCAA to grant NIL (name, image and likeness) rights to student-athletes, permitting them—for the first time ever—to earn endorsement compensation while maintaining their amateur athletic status.

Providing an exclusive, all-access pass inside LSU Athletics, the docuseries will examine the impact of NIL rights on college athletics, as seen through the eyes of some of the top athletes at Louisiana State University (LSU)

Jayden Daniels, engineered one of the most prolific seasons in SEC football history while capturing the 2023 Heisman and was the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders.

Flau’jae Johnson earned SEC women’s basketball Freshman of the Year honors, and currently holds the highest NIL valuation in women’s basketball. Not just a dynamic athlete, Flau’jae also launched a rap career, signing as an artist with Roc Nation.

LSU fans, this one is worth a watch as Amazon Prime’s documentary film crew went behind the scenes for some of the biggest moments of the year, including the locker room at halftime of the LSU vs. Alabama game to inside Kim Mulkey‘s locker room as players like Reese and Johnson navigated the NIL era a season after winning the school’s first basketball National Championship.
