LSU has landed a commitment from Ruston High cornerback Aidan Anding, keeping the Tigers hot on the recruiting trail with the No. 3 class on the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2025 cycle.

Anding is the 25th commitment for LSU, and the third cornerback addition for the Tigers.

For LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond, it’s another key piece to bring in alongside a pair of On3 Top 10 cornerbacks in 5-star DJ Pickett and 4-star Kade Phillips, who are both committed to the Tigers.

Pickett committed to LSU in July, giving the Tigers a verbal pledge from On3’s No. 1 cornerback prospect. This past week, LSU flipped Phillips – On3’s No. 7 cornerback prospect – away from Texas.

Now, Anding – another one-time lean to the Longhorns – is on board as a cornerback commitment out of Louisiana, which gives Raymond and Co. another big boost on the defensive side following Louisiana cornerback Jaboree Antoine’s decision to back off his LSU commitment and get on board with Miami.

For LSU, Saturday’s commitment from Anding is just what Raymond the the program needed to continue to rebuild with top talent at the cornerback position.

“Coach Raymond, the guys he done put in the league from a development standpoint … with all the players he has coached and sent to the NFL, he has a chance to develop me into one of the best cornerbacks in the country,” Anding said.

“Then it’s just the fans and support LSU has being one of the premier programs in college football.”

Given Anding is still relatively fresh to football after playing four different sports in high school, the Ruston High rising senior is embracing his role as a cornerback who will now suit up for the Tigers in college.

“Really, it’s the in-state school, but me, I wasn’t much of a football player (growing up),” Anding told On3. “I was a basketball player, but I didn’t really watch basketball that much. I had nothing in my mind about football. But, after hearing (about LSU) and seeing stuff about it, it’s a good program, for one, and it’s the in-state school with a lot of fans and love shown to that program.

“(My most recent) visit was good getting to learn more about LSU, and just meeting new coaches and players.”

Anding checks in with an On3 rating of 89, putting him one spot away from a 4-star ranking. He’s currently ranked by On3 as the No. 12 prospect in Louisiana’s 2025 class, regardless of position.
