LSU has landed another commitment from the state of Louisiana for the 2024 recruiting cycle, this time reeling in Terrebonne wide receiver Kylan Billiot.

Billiot worked out at LSU’s Skills Camp on Saturday, earning a verbal scholarship offer in the process.

Now, Billiot is committed to the Tigers. The three-star prospect announced his decision on Wednesday following a trip to the LSU campus on Tuesday.

Billiot wastes little time committing to “dream offer”

The Houma (La.) native made the drive to Baton Rouge this past week with one mission on his mind: earn an offer from LSU.

Billiot shined throughout the day, ultimately landing in one of the LSU 7-on-7 title game matches against Lafayette Christian Academy.

While LCA took home the win, and big showing from Billiot in front of the entire LSU offensive staff was enough to green light a verbal scholarship offer as soon as the game ended.

“They said I worked hard enough for it,” he said. “I am blessed. It’s my dream school.

“It feels really, really nice for me to come to my dream school. This was definitely earned. It wasn’t given to me. For me to come (to LSU), it means a lot to me.”

Now on board as the second wide receiver commitment for LSU in the 2024 cycle, Billiot said his relationships span across much of the LSU staff, and his bond with Hankton has continued to grow.

“It is strong. It’s really strong,” Billiot said. “For him to offer after seeing me play today, it really showed him that I can do this and that I can play at this level.

“He is not about to just offer anybody. You have to work for it. Him following me around (at camp), that showed me I really have to work for this.”

After LSU wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton and the staff delivered the offer, Billiot was swarmed by not just teammates and Terrebonne coaches, but a number of Houma area natives like LSU defensive lineman Maason Smith, LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy and LSU assistant Jordan Arcement.

“It was wonderful. They are family,” Billiot said. “I looked up to them forever. That means a lot to me.”

Just after receiving the offer from the Tigers, Billiot admitted it was only a matter of time before he was publicly committed to LSU.

“Maybe commit real, real soon,” Billiot said with a smile. ““I have to tell my mom and all that. She is going to be really happy.

“I am staying home and playing at the highest level of college football. She’s going to be real happy for me.”

Billiot still growing his game on the field

Billiot has been a star on the basketball court at Terrebonne, but he’s just now beginning to heat up on Friday nights on the gridiron.

“I transitioned from basketball to football my sophomore year,” he said. “I saw (coach) walk into the gym, and I knew it was that time. When he started talking to me about (college) recruitment, I was all in.”

“I played my freshman year, but didn’t take it as serious. I didn’t really get in. My 10th grade year I started, then my 11th grade year I started.”

Billiot worked out in front of this same LSU offensive staff at camp a year ago, and he turned heads enough to put himself firmly on the future radar.

After returning 12 months later as a rising senior, Billiot had reshaped his body and game. He checked in at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds and clocked a 4.57 40-yard dash, then showed impressive hands throughout the day’s 7-on-7 competition.

“(My game) grew tremendously,” he said. “I have been working. I have been really working to get this. So, this (offer and commitment) was really big.”
