Breaking: LSU adds top-15 forward Grace Knox to 2025 class

LSU has picked up its fourth commitment of the 2025 class as Grace Knox has announced her decision to play for the Tigers, giving LSU yet another top-25 commitment of the cycle.

Knox chose LSU over Texas, USC, and Tennessee after taking official visits to all three and weighing her options throughout the process. She took her official visit to LSU on Sept. 7 and since then. LSU has seen her in person two more times in California. Over the summer, Kim Mulkey and her staff spent a lot of time watching and seeing Knox on the Nike EYBL Circuit, further expressing their interest.

Knox is from California, giving USC a chance throughout the recruitment, but Mulkey and LSU remained intent on getting the star forward to Baton Rouge. It has all paid off as the Tigers pick up a massive commitment and a player suited to come in and help LSU immediately as one of the top players in this class.

Knox is ranked as the No. 12 player in the class on the On3 Industry Rankings and at 6-foot-2 with awesome athleticism, the upside is clear for the California native and the fit at LSU was evident early in the process and the relationship only got stronger.

“It’s been good. It’s been energetic [with LSU],” Knox told On3’s Talia Goodman in August. “You can tell their coaching staff is kind of what everyone thinks, in a good way. They have energy with them. They bring what you see in their players. It makes sense. It’s been a good recruitment with them. They’ve been just as consistent as everybody else. I mainly talk to Coach G [Gary Redus] and probably Kim Mulkey. I’m excited to feel the energy that they give off because from what I’ve seen, it’s the biggest thing.”

Knox shines in 2024

Knox was always a priority for LSU over the past two years. She played for the Cal Sparks on the Nike EYBL circuit and was named defensive MVP of Nike EYBL Session III after averaging 14.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.8 steals and one block. 

In high school, she starred as a freshman two years ago, before missing her sophomore season with a back fracture. She fully recovered and had a strong junior year in the 2023-2024 season as one of the most dominating players around. Knox averaged 17.2 points and 11.9 rebounds as a junior at Etiwanda.

“I want to be as versatile as possible,” Knox said. “Being a more automatic score on offense and being more than just a rebounder. I want to expand my game as much as possible, whether it’s from the 3-point line or mid-range.

“I’d say I’m athletic. I always have energy on the court and give it my all. I’d call myself a rebounder and versatile, outgoing on the court and I’d say I have a lot of passion.” 

Now, she brings that energy to LSU as the Tigers build the best 2025 class in the country.
