LSU has flipped a 5-star recruit to cap off the Early Signing Period on Wednesday, reeling in a commitment from Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines five-star interior offensive lineman Solomon Thomas.

The Tigers got Thomas to campus multiple times over the past year, and a recent big push from LSU’s staff helped flip Thomas away from the in-state Seminoles after being committed for nearly a year.

Thomas had taken an LSU official visit in June, and he most recently visited campus two weeks ago. On Tuesday, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) flip picks rolled in for LSU.

Now, Thomas has announced his flip from Florida State to LSU.

Thomas signed with LSU on Wednesday morning, multiple sources tell The Bengal Tiger staff.

“They’re different,” Thomas told On3. “They’re different. I can say that. Coach (Brad) Davis and the expectations that he has for his offensive line is different. The players that he has our different. Of course they have Coach Davis but kudos to Will (Campbell) and Emery (Jones). Emery is a dog. And so is Will. Emery is a freaking dog and he can lead a team. They came up as freshman and they led. I don’t know how they were before but they set the expectation very high and I loved it.”

Earlier this month, FSU head coach Mike Norvell fired offensive coordinator/line coach Alex Atkins, wide receivers coach Ron Dugans and defensive coordinator Adam Fuller.

Thomas took to social media to voice his displeasure over Atkins’ firing, but also told On3 that he was ‘sticking with Florida State.’

With the addition of Thomas, LSU signed the No. 1 offensive line prospect in Florida (Thomas), Mississippi (Tyler Miller) and Arkansas (Carius Curne).

Solomon Thomas Recruit Profile

The 6-foot-3.5, 315-pound Sanders is the nation’s No. 32 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 2 offensive lineman in the class and the No. 4 recruit from the state of Florida.

On3’s scouting and rankings team writes this about him as a prospect.

“Big-bodied, physical offensive lineman with versatility and one of the higher floors in what is a loaded cycle at the position. Measured in at around 6-foot-3.5, 315 pounds prior to his senior season. Touts elite length with 35.75-inch arms. Has a barrel-chested build with solid weight distribution. Lines up at tackle for his high school but likely has the highest upside as a guard long-term. Very stout at the point of attack. Plays with a strong base and has pop in his hands on contact.

“Detonates defensive linemen and linebackers with his punch. Plays with a physical edge and works to finish blocks. Has good technical ability in pass protection. Held up well in a 1-on-1 matchup against 2024 five-star defensive lineman LJ McCray as a junior. A solid, not overwhelming athlete. Can continue to improve his lateral agility and reactive quickness. Has the skill level to potentially get on the field early in his college career given his strength and battle tested resume.”
