BREAKING: LSU lands 5-star WR Dakorien Moore out of Texas
The LSU football staff already landed one Duncanville High star this week, and now the Tigers have added another in 5-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore.
On Saturday, just 48 hours removed from four-star Duncanville running back Caden Durham announcing his commitment to LSU, Moore followed suit and revealed his pledge to the Tigers.
“I liked just the vibes and energy from the coaches,” Moore told The Bengal Tiger staff. “It’s a cool place, to play ball and to just live around. They have always been at the top for me.
“It’s just WRU. You’re wrong if you didn’t have LSU at the top as a wideout.”
Moore is ranked as a five-star and the No. 2 wide receiver prospect on the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2025 recruiting cycle.
The sophomore also checks in as one of the Top 10 overall recruits in America, regardless of position.
One of 2025’s most promising WR prospects commits to the Tigers
Given Moore is ranked as one of America’s top two wide receiver prospects for the 2025 class, the surprise addition gives LSU another massive win on the recruiting trail.
The five-star already has one state title under his belt at Duncanville High, and with two years of high school football remaining, he’s quickly becoming a household name in the recruiting world.
“The gravity he draws from secondaries with his ability to get downfield and separate, it really stands out,” said On3 National Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power. “He is a natural separator with his long speed and change of direction, which I think is the most important thing. He brings both to the table. He is not a pure track guy who can’t change directions. He understands how to change speeds, gear up and gear down, tempo his routes, and he stacks corners off the line consistently.”
With LSU adding Moore to a wide receiver room that’s always one of college football’s most talented, the offense in Baton Rouge is getting another big boost with the addition of the five-star out of Texas.

“There is a lot he brings to the table,” Power said. “He projects as a downfield target and a guy who will average a lot of yards per catch if utilized correctly. He’s certainly one of the best 2025 wide receivers we saw over the summer. He’s a guy who has impressed in every setting. The high school setting, he has the athletic markers, then he impressed when we saw him over the summer.
“I am looking forward to watching him this year at Duncanville, because he has game-changing ability as a receiver and has a case for being one of the best receivers who has committed to LSU in a couple cycles. It’s a huge get for LSU. He’s a guy who is certainly a difference maker.”
Dakorien Moore gives LSU another big win at Duncanville High
It’s been quite the week for LSU at Duncanville High.
On Thursday, the Tigers landed a Top 10 running back in Caden Durham while losing out to Texas in the race for five-star edge rusher Colin Simmons.
Now, LSU’s landed another big win with the addition of the state title team’s best wide receiver.
Moore said the relationship he’s built with the LSU staff, including wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton and head coach Brian Kelly, were key in tipping the scales in favor of the Tigers.
“He sees me being versatile and well-rounded in the offense, and my game is special,” Moore said of Hankton. “He’s cool people. Seeing what he does with his receivers, I trust him.”
“He’s funny, but he’s about his business,” Moore added of Kelly. “I like that he can flip his switch from fun and vibes into locked in and about business.”
