Virginia Tech Hokies defensive back Mansoor Delane has committed to transfer to the LSU Tigers for the 2025 season, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Delane spent the last three seasons with Virginia Tech.

During that time, he played in 33 games and had 146 total tackles. That included eight tackles for loss. On top of that, he has six career interceptions and 16 pass breakups with four forced fumbles. Four of those interceptions, seven of those pass breakups, and two of those forced fumbles came in 2023.

Delane is LSU’s second defensive back to join the roster from the NCAA Transfer Portal, joining Florida cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson.

Delane, who started at cornerback for the Hokies, is viewed by LSU as a versatile defensive back who could play cornerback, nickel or safety, sources tell The Bengal Tiger staff.

Earlier in the day on Monday, LSU landed another starter out of the NCAA Transfer Portal in Florida EDGE rusher Jack Pyburn.

Delane’s commitment comes after a weekend visit to Baton Rouge.

Delane became the seventh LSU addition from the Transfer Portal, joining Pyburn and Jackson, Oklahoma tight end Bauer Sharp got the ball rolling when he signed with the Tigers, and LSU has since added Kentucky wide receiver Barion Brown, Nebraska EDGE Jimari Butler and Mississippi State quarterback Michael Van Buren.
