BREAKING: LSU lands Virginia Tech transfer OL Braelin Moore
The LSU football staff’s red-hot run in the portal has led to the Tigers landing On3’s No. 1 interior offensive line transfer in Virginia Tech’s Braelin Moore.
Moore started at center for the Hokies during the last two seasons. In 2024, he helped push forward a Virginia Tech rushing attack that compiled over 2,000 yards during the regular season. Specifically, that rushing attack was led by senior tailback Bhayshul Tuten, who scored 15 rushing touchdowns and rushed for nearly 1,200 yards across 11 appearances this season.
The prowess of the Virginia Tech offensive line can be credited with helping them reach that mark, and Moore played a massive role in his own right holding down the center position.
Moore is headed to LSU to compete for the starting job at center, sources tell The Bengal Tiger staff. That will give LSU the chance to slide freshman starting center DJ Chester to guard, the position he was recruited out of high school as a 4-star in Georgia.

Moore is a former three-star recruit in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 471 overall player that cycle and the No. 35-rated interior offensive lineman.
That said, On3 was much higher on Moore out of high school than 247, Rivals and ESPN. While the other three recruiting services tabbed the Pennsylvania native as a 3-star, On3 ranked Moore as not just a 4-star, but a Top 250 prospect and No. 16 interior offensive lineman in the 2022 class.
Fast forward to December 2024, On3 ranks Moore as the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the NCAA Transfer Portal and a Top 25 overall prospect, regardless of position.
Moore is LSU’s 10th transfer addition since the Transfer Portal window opened on December 9.
