CB Wallace Foster playing the role of recruiter for LSU
New Orleans cornerback Wallace Foster committed to LSU in November.
Since then, the Warren Easton junior has not just been locked in on his commitment to the Tigers, but he’s been heavily recruiting other notable prospects in the 2024 class to join him.
“I helped with Kolaj Cobbins and getting him committed,” Foster said. “I was on board with him. He called me up and let me know the news, and I told him we were ready.
“I am trying to get Wardell Mack. In New Orleans and Louisiana, we have a standard. It’s DBU. You know the standard. I’m also trying to get Holy Cross wide receiver Koby Young. I just tell them they need to stay home. We don’t need to leave the state when we can stay home and compete for National Championships at LSU.”
Foster was able to put his recruiting hat on most recently when he visited for Junior Day earlier this month, and the trip also made him even more confident in his decision to stay in-state at LSU despite a double-digit offer list from colleges around the country.
“The visit was great,” he said. “I liked the whole planning of everything. I’m from Louisiana, so everything just felt like home. It felt like a family cookout, the food was great, and it felt like home. I couldn’t see myself anywhere else but LSU.

“I have been to campus more than seven times, probably. It really is no different than other trips because it’s all the same love. I’m always expected to be there. It’s already starting to feel like home for me. My last visit knocked it out of the park, though. This is exactly where I need to be. The food, the atmosphere, the people, the environment, it all plays a big role in where you go to college.”
The trip also gave Foster the chance to continue to get to know the LSU staff, including a number of his future coaches in head coach Brian Kelly, cornerbacks coach Robert Steeples, safeties coach Kerry Cooks and defensive coordinator Matt House.
“We have built a good relationship over the months of talking,” Foster said. “Coach Steeples and Coach Cooks and Coach House are all good guys. They love me. They love my intensity. They love being around me. It’s just a great fit.
“I know Coach Kelly is still adjusting to being down in Louisiana since everything is different to him, but he’s been great. He knows I’m a dog. He likes what I do on and off the field. He’s trying to do his best to make me a great man both personally and physically.”
