Change in visit plans for LSU 5-star+ CB commit DJ Pickett
Zephyrhills (Fla.) 5-star+ cornerback and LSU commit DJ Pickett has changed his visit plans for the weekend – though he will still take in an SEC game.
After seeing LSU last weekend in Baton Rouge, the 6-foot-4, 180-pounder was slated to be in Gainesville this weekend to see the Tigers take on Florida, his father, Damien Pickett, told On3.
Now, Pickett will make the drive to Athens to see Georgia take on Tennessee in the SEC’s top-billed matchup of the weekend.
The Bulldogs will take on the Volunteers on Saturday night, while the Tigers are set for kickoff against the Gators at 3:30 p.m. ET. LSU looks to bounce back from a pair of SEC losses that put the program alongside Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss and Missouri as teams carrying two conference losses into the final three weeks of the regular season.
Pickett, who in Baton Rouge for another visit one week ago, has remained firm with his commitment to LSU since picking the Tigers over Miami and Oregon on July 17. Georgia had previously been in the 5-star’s lead group, but Pickett cut the Bulldogs when he trimmed his list down to three final teams.
While Pickett won’t see LSU play for a second week in a row, the odds remain in favor of the Tigers when it comes to landing On3’s No. 1 cornerback prospect when the Early Signing Period arrives in three weeks.
Once signed on December 4, Pickett plans to enroll at LSU in January, which brings the opportunity to participate in team workouts and spring practices with the Tigers ahead of next summer.

“It’s about my son being happy, my son being comfortable and my son getting on the field earlier and we feel that spot is LSU,” Pickett’s father, Damien, told On3’s Steve Wiltfong this week.
Georgia, Miami and others continue to push to flip Pickett away from LSU, a move that’s no surprise given he’s a Top 5 overall prospect on the On3 Rankings for the 2025 class. Still, Pickett has maintained the fit at LSU coupled with the track record of development by Raymond is why the Tigers have remained the choice.
In the eyes of his Damien Pickett, his son “feels at home” in Baton Rouge.
“That speaks volumes for (LSU),” he said.
Pickett plans to be back in Baton Rouge for LSU’s home game against Oklahoma at the end of November, a weekend that wraps up the regular season for the Tigers and comes just days before the Early Signing Period on December 4.
For the Tigers, that means Raymond and LSU will be the final program to spend time in-person with Pickett and his family ahead of Signing Day.
