LSU and the Top 25: The latest AP, Coaches Polls revealed

The latest AP and Coaches polls released Sunday included big changes at the top of each list after another weekend of impactful upsets around the country — which included movement for LSU and many SEC teams.

Oregon earned the No. 1 spots in each poll for the first time since 2012, followed by Georgia making a leap back forward to No. 2 after knocking off previous No. 1 Texas.

Both polls have Penn State steady at No. 3 and Ohio State at No. 4.

The Longhorns fell to No. 5 in the AP Poll and No. 6 in the Coaches, where Miami rounds out the top five.

LSU is No. 8 in the AP Poll for the second straight week and moved up a spot to No. 7 on the Coaches list. LSU was ranked No. 8 in both polls prior to Saturday’s win over Arkansas.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers travel to College Station next weekend to take on Texas A&M, and the Aggies remained No. 14 in both polls.

Previous No. 7 Alabama fell eight spots in both polls to No. 15, representing the largest drop of the week, after losing for the second time in three games.
