Dashawn McBryde catapults into latest On300 rankings

2024 Denham Springs (La.) defensive back Dashawn McBryde is now a Top 200 overall prospect, landing at No. 194 overall in the fresh On300 released on Monday. He’s the No. 19 safety in the nation and No. 5 prospect in Louisiana.
McBryde was back at LSU on Saturday for an unofficial visit, getting more time around Brian Kelly’s staff. He plans to visit Tennessee soon as the Volunteers continue to press for him. Ole Miss is another school the four-star safety said is challenging the likes of LSU for his commitment. He doesn’t have any official visits set, but said a decision is coming soon.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, McBryde’s the No. 210 overall prospect in the nation and No. 18 safety nationally.
The Denham Spring safety is coming off a big junior season with 46 tackles, four tackles for loss, nine interceptions, nine pass breakups, four forced fumbles and two touchdowns on defense.

He set the school’s single season record for interceptions, which helped land McBryde All-State honors this past year.
LSU is the heavy favorite on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for McBryde. The Tigers offered this spring.
“My (family) was really excited because they are LSU fans,” he said.
“It’s LSU. Always been good. It’s a really good program to go to,” McBryde added. “The atmosphere, the culture. You go to one of the games and the stands are just crazy. The staff is really good.”
