Dashawn Womack moves up within 5-star rankings
The final rankings from On3 for the 2023 class are complete.
Once again, LSU signee Dashawn Womack received a bump.
Womack entered the day as the No. 22 overall prospect and the No. 4 EDGE rusher in the 2023 cycle.
Now, he’s ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect and the No. 3 EDGE rusher in the 2023 cycle.
While Womack was unable to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game as a result of postseason surgery, he did enough as a senior to turn heads with the On3 rankings team.
In 10 games, Womack logged 48 Tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, five fumble recoveries, one blocked field goal and one touchdown.
On3’s Thoughts
“His pass rush repertoire is one of the better ones we’ve seen in the cycle,” said On3 National Director of Rankings and Scouting Charles Power. “He can rush standing up or with his hand in the dirt and has played really well in showcase games for St. Frances. He really dominated their game against DeSoto. He’s made high level plays throughout the season against a tough national schedule. He is very physical to go with the athleticism and ready-made size. There’s very little holes in Dashawn Womack’s game, which is what makes you feel so good about the projection and ultimately making him a five-star. He has the upside, but he has a pretty high floor, as well.

Gators faithful react to Billy Napier news
“He looks to be one of the more polished pass rushers in what is a strong cycle at the EDGE position. Womack’s combination of ready-made size, high-end verified athleticism, pass rush skills and physicality result in an EDGE prospect with few tangible holes at this stage.”

David Ojabo: Round 2, Pick 13 in 2022 NFL Draft
Da’Shawn Womack’s size, verified athleticism and natural feel as a pass rusher reminds us of David Ojabo. Womack is more developed as the same stage, as Ojabo began playing football later in his high school career.
