On Wednesday afternoon, EA Sports released a second batch of ratings update for the college football rosters across the country and also adding over 700 new players to the game that were not in the initial release, completing LSU’s starting depth chart. With already over 12,00 athletes, EA has been meticulous about its rating updates, but now halfway through the season can give a more accurate picture of what these rosters look like.

Here is a rundown of the big name changes across the country, but here we’re focused on LSU and here we have the biggest changes plus two players who were added to the roster in this update.

Here is a link to the first batch of updates that were released on Oct. 3

Updated ratings on Oct. 24

QB Garrett Nussmeier: 87 –> 89

RB Caden Durham: 76 –> 85

DE Bradyn Swinson: 77 –> 86

WR Kyren Lacy: 88 –> 90

LB Whit Weeks: 79 –> 83

WR Aaron Anderson: 80 –> 82

CB PJ Woodland: 77 –> 79

RB Kaleb Jackson: 81 –> 79

Nussmeier is playing like a top five quarterback in the country, which should put him in the 90-92 range in my opinion, but I won’t nitpick too much. Caden Durham gets a much deserved boost and so does Swinson and Weeks after their strong stretches. I think everyone can agree Weeks and Swinson could have gotten an even more significant jump since the beginning of the season. Swinson is one of the leaders in the country in sacks with seven already this season and has helped fuel the defensive turnaround this year. Meanwhile, Weeks is No. 10 in the country in tackles and has been incredibly impactful in the middle portion of the season.

The LSU wide receivers continue to get a boost as Lacy and Anderson go up two each, while Kaleb Jackson drops down to a 79 after his carries have been cut.

I think ZY Alexander could have gotten a bump in the ratings from the 80 overall he’s been sitting at since the start of the season. Ahmad Breaux remains at a 74 overall despite being one of LSU’s most relied upon defensive tackles this season. Kyle Parker is out for the season, but remained at 67 overall, unfortunately.

Roster additions

S Sage Ryan: 78, DT Gio Paez: 80

Ryan and Paez both are now in the game for LSU, giving the Tigers more options and more real players in the depth chart, With the addition of these two, all 22 LSU starters are now in the game, making LSU extremely realistic when you use them. Tight end Mac Markway was finally removed from the roster, while walk-on Javen Nicholas was also added to the game.
