East Ascension's Brysten Martinez soars up On3 rankings
2026 Gonzalez (La.) East Ascension offensive tackle Brysten Martinez is known in the Bayou State as one of the top prospects in Louisiana.
Now, Martinez is quickly going to become a household name for college coaches around America.
On Monday, On3 expanded the initial On3 Top 100 Watch List to the first On300 for the 2026 class, and eight Louisiana high school prospects landed on the list.
The biggest mover was Martinez, who went from unranked to the No. 4 offensive tackle in the country for the 2026 class. Martinez is now ranked by On3 as the No. 17 overall prospect in the cycle, regardless of position.
On3 National Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power circled a dominant sophomore season for Martinez as a big reason for his rise, looking the part of one of the nation’s best offensive tackles and making a big leap developmentally from his freshman to sophomore year.
Martinez is one of three Baton Rouge area prospects to land inside On3’s Top 20, regardless of position. Martinez is joined by the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 1 interior offensive lineman in Lamar Brown and the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 1 safety in Blaine Bradford. Brown will be a junior at University High, while Bradford enters his junior season at Catholic High.

When Martinez kicked off his sophomore season at East Ascension, the LSU staff didn’t play the waiting game, choosing to extend the local four-star prospect a verbal scholarship offer.
“A dream come true, literally,” Martinez told On3, adding that offensive coordinator and area recruiter Joe Sloan delivered the offer. ““He’s great. I’m glad he’s giving me a chance to showcase my talent at another level.”
LSU does not have any commitments for the 2026 class, but the Tigers have the No. 1 recruiting class in America for the 2025 cycle with 11 commitments – including 10 prospects ranked inside the On300.
