ESPN’s popular “College GameDay” show will make its first trip to Baton Rouge since 2019 on Nov. 9 when LSU hosts Alabama.

The No. 16 Tigers (6-2, 3-1) and No. 14 Crimson Tide (6-2, 3-2) will keep pace with this week’s matchup, Penn State vs. Ohio State, as the most frequently highlighted matchup at 13 times.

Both Alabama and LSU are both among the top 10 programs most frequently featured in “College GameDay” matchups and among the top five locations most frequently visited.

But Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and company — including Pat McAfee in recent seasons and Nick Saban this season — haven’t been to Tiger Stadium since the national championship run by quarterback Joe Burrow, coach Ed Oregon and company in 2019.

LSU participated in (and won) five “College GameDay” contests that season: on the road at Texas, at home against Florida, on the road at Alabama and in the SEC championship and national championship.

The show broadcast from Tuscaloosa, Ala., last season when the Tigers visited the Crimson Tide and from Columbia, S.C., earlier this season when they came back to beat South Carolina.

LSU is 22-14 all-time in “College GameDay” matchups and 3-8 against Alabama.

The show will broadcast Saturday morning from the university’s Quad.
