Experienced Spanish forward Pablo Tamba transfers to LSU

LSU has added UC Davis forward Pablo Tamba from the transfer portal, securing another piece for their frontcourt in 2025-26.
Tamba was second on UC Davis in scoring at 11.3 points to go with his 5.3 rebounds per gamewhile playing 27.6 minutes as a starter. At 6-foot-7, he shot 58.7 percent from the field and 66 percent from the free throw line, while also posting 37 steals and 24 blocks in 32 games.
Originally from Malaga, Spain, Tamba spent his freshman year at Idaho State where he played in 16 games before transferring to Indiana River State College as a sophomore. Before his junior year, he made the move to UC Davis where he spent the last two seasons before entering the portal on April 3. He is now committing to play at LSU for his fifth year.
Tamba joins a frontcourt with Jalen Reed and Robert Miller as returners along with transfers Mike Nwoko and Marquel Sutton. Freshman Matthew Gilhool also joins the mix as a promising prospect. Tamba will be a forward looking to get in the rotation and compete with Sutton as a power forward option this season.
He has bounce and athleticism that makes him a threat wherever he catches the ball and has played high-level international basketball as well in years past. The Tigers welcome this type of burst to their roster paired with his experience and understanding of his role.

LSU fans: How to track the Transfer Portal
While the NCAA Transfer Portal database is private, the On3 Network has streamlined the reporting process tracking player movement. If you find yourself asking, ‘How can I track transfer portal activity?’ our well-established network of reporters and contacts across college athletics keeps you up to speed in several ways, from articles written about players as they enter and exit the transfer portal or find their new destination, to our social media channels, to the On3 Transfer Portal.
The transfer portal wire provides a real-time feed of player activity, including basic player profile information, transfer portal ranking and original On3 Industry recruiting ranking, as well as NIL valuation (name, image and likeness).
The On3 Transfer Portal Rankings allow for you to filter the On3 Industry Rankings to find the best of the best in the portal, starting with Overall Top Players.
