BREAKING: Florida transfer DL Jalen Lee commits to LSU
Florida defensive lineman Jalen Lee entered the NCAA Transfer Portal earlier this month and on Tuesday night, he committed to LSU, he announced on Twitter. The 6-2, 299-pound defensive lineman has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
The former Live Oak (La.) standout spent three years at the University of Florida mainly as a role player and special teams contributor.
Lee saw the most playing time of his career during the 2022 season. He saw action in all 12 games, including three starts at nose tackle. Lee totaled eight assisted tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. He will have three years of eligibility left to play two seasons at his next program.
“I think Jalen Lee is a technician,” Gators defensive line coach Sean Spencer said in August. “He’s on the tape all the time as the example of how to do things. The thing is he’s not as big as those guys. He’s not as big as Big G or Des, right? So, he has to be exact in his technique, and he works on that.”
