Four-star Lola Lampley commits to LSU women's basketball

LSU has its first commitment of the 2026 class with top-20 prospect Lola Lampley announcing her decision on Friday night. Lampley is the No. 18 player in the 2026 class and a versatile talent at 6-foot-2 out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
She cancelled visits to Tennessee and South Carolina after her trip to Baton Rouge earlier in October. In addition to South Carolina and Tennessee, Mississippi State, Florida State, UCLA, Duke, and others were also in the mix early for Lampley. Kim Mulkey and her assistant coaches were able to watch her multiple times in person over the summer and locked in on her being one of the top targets in this class.
Signing day is on Nov. 12 and while the Tigers are working on another top prospect, Mulkey and her staff have a strong piece for the future with Lampley.
Lola Lampley on her recruitment and LSU
Lampley officially received an offer from LSU on May 19 and since then, the momentum has been with the Tigers.
“It’s a good natural relationship,” Lampley told the Bengal Tiger in July. “I’ve built a really close bond with every coach on that staff, so I look forward to how far we can go after the visit.”

Here’s what she told On3’s Talia Goodman about her recruitment over the summer:
“I’m adding to this list every day, but style of play is one thing I’m definitely looking at,” Lampley told On3 of factors she’s considering. “I look at how I can fit in that style of play. With different styles of basketball, you have to adapt and adapting is never going to be a problem for me, but there’s so many styles of play… Also, I want to major in mechanical engineering and then it’s always good to have the relationship piece. Recruiting is different from when you’re actually there, so I don’t want to put too many expectations on the relationship part yet…because that will come.”
The Bengal Tiger had reported LSU’s interest in Lampley as they offered her a scholarship and watched her play multiple times on the AAU scene.
“On the first call, they told me what they noticed about my game and just the potential that I have. They offered me on that call, so since then, we’ve been keeping the relationship,” Lampley told On3. “They check in very often, so I can tell that they’re going to go pretty hard for me. I’m just going to see how their relationship goes, just as I am to all the other schools trying to build a relationship.”
