From LSU to GQ: Paul Skenes and Livvy Dunne’s star power on full display

Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes and LSU gymnast and influencer Livvy Dunne are taking their success beyond the baseball field and gymnastics mat, stepping into the world of fashion with a new GQ feature this week, titled: “Why the Algorithm Loves Gen Z’s ‘It Couple’ Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes.” The LSU power couple started dating in 2023 and recently sat down for an interview and photo shoot with the magazine, offering fans a glimpse into their relationship and stardom.
The photos, which debuted Wednesday, featured the couple along with their dog, Roux. While Dunne is no stranger to the camera, Skenes admitted this was a new experience for him.
“Jeez,” Skenes said with a chuckle. “I don’t know. I’m gonna get some flack in the locker room, I know that. I’m not looking forward to that. I didn’t know what GQ was until the offer came. Glad I did it.”
The shoot took place on the rare snow day Louisiana had in January in Baton Rouge. Skenes admitted it was a step outside his comfort zone, but he ultimately enjoyed the experience.
“It was very fun,” he said. “It was on the one day in, like, a million years that it snowed in Baton Rouge. So it kind of worked out perfectly. We got some sweet pictures. But that is not my sphere. We’ll see if I do more of those. But it was a fun day.”

“Whenever we come back to Louisiana, it’s like the first time we met,” Livvy says.
In the magazine interview, Skenes said: “I view it as, it’s not my job to take pictures with these people, it’s my job to throw, and them wanting to take pictures is getting in the way of that,” he told Sam Schube, adding, “But (Livvy) always handles everything very well — she’s very comfortable to be around for other people who come up and ask to talk, that kind of thing. I mean, she never says no to a picture. I say no to them.”
Skenes has been one of the best pitchers in MLB since making his debut last May. The 2024 National League Rookie of the Year made his season debut last Thursday against the Miami Marlins. He went 5 1/3 innings, surrendering three hits, two runs and striking out seven. Skenes became the fastest to go from No. 1 overall pick to his first Opening Day start, per MLB.com.
Dunne, who was part of LSU’s national championship gymnastics squad, returned for one final season in 2025, and continues to dominate in the NIL world. With over 13.5 million social media followers and an On3 NIL Valuation of $4.1 million, she ranks fourth in the On3 NIL 100, making her one of the most marketable athletes in college sports.
Together, Skenes and Dunne have captivated fans. Whether on the mound, in the gym, or now in the pages of GQ, the LSU “It” couple is proving they are a force to be reckoned with.
