How to watch: LSU vs. Alabama
LSU takes on Alabama Saturday night at 6:45 p.m. CT on CBS in another highly-anticipated matchup between the SEC West rivals. The matchup can be found on radio on the LSU Sports Radio Network.
“For us, it’s one game at a time,” LSU head coach Brian Kelly said this week. “The focus is on our preparation and our process. So, it’s great to be ranked but it doesn’t change the way we go about our business from week to week.”
The first Saturday in November has traditionally gone a long way in determining the winner of the SEC Western Division, and this contest will be no different. In fact, it will be the 18th time since 2002 (a span of 23 games) that both teams enter the game ranked in the Top 25.
LSU quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Jayden Daniels will look to keep the red-hot offense cooking with Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas, Jr. Running back Logan Diggs is also hitting his stride.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban said it is a similar offense to what LSU brought in with Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow in the 2019 matchup.

“I think it’s comparable to what they had then,” Saban said on Thursday. “Very comparable skill set. They had a first-round receiver, they had a second-round receiver. They had a really good receiving tight end, great quarterback. They had a great runner. All these guys playing in the NFL now and having outstanding careers. And this team they have right now is very similar to that. Very similar in many, many ways.”
The Tide are led by sophomore quarterback Jalen Milroe, who has accounted for 1,617 yards passing and 13 touchdowns, along with 142 yards with his legs this season. Senior running back Jase McClellan leads the team in rushing with 569 yards on 122 carries and four touchdown scores. Jermaine Burton leads Alabama receivers with 508 yards on 23 catches for five touchdowns.
LSU’s defense struggled much of the season. Going into this week, the Tigers lost defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo and cornerback Zy Alexander for the game. Thursday night, Kelly confirmed they wouldn’t play, but no new injuries popped up either.
“Wingo’s out, Zy is out. Those were the two, right?” Kelly said. “Those are the two that they continue to be out.”
