The road to Omaha continues for LSU Baseball, and fans won’t have to go far to witness the next chapter.

The Tigers will host West Virginia this weekend in the NCAA Super Regional at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field, with a trip to the College World Series on the line. The best-of-three series begins Saturday, June 7, with Game 1 scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and televised live on ESPN.

Game 2 is set for Sunday at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN2. If a decisive Game 3 is needed, it will be played Monday, June 9, with the time and TV network to be announced.

All three games will also be available to stream via the ESPN app for fans with a cable login. Fans can follow along on radio via the LSU Sports Radio Network or online at LSUsports.net.

LSU Survives Chaotic Regional Weekend

To get to this point, LSU survived a roller-coaster Baton Rouge Regional that started with promise but quickly turned dramatic. The Tigers showed their championship mettle, however, rallying in the Monday night game vs. Little Rock and holding off elimination to punch their ticket to the Super Regional round.

Across the country, regional weekend brought upheaval. Seven of the 16 national seeds were eliminated before the Super Regionals — including No. 1 Vanderbilt and No. 2 Texas. No. 7 Georgia, No. 11 Clemson, and No. 12 Oregon were also bounced by Sunday, while No. 10 Ole Miss and No. 16 Southern Miss followed on Monday.

In fact, only nine of the 16 top seeds advanced — tying for the third-fewest in the Super Regional era (since 1999), behind only 2014 and 2018.

The early exits of Vanderbilt and Texas were especially notable. Top-two seeds almost never fall this early; it’s only happened seven times in the past 26 tournaments and just the second time two top-two seeds were eliminated in the same year.

Next Stop: Omaha

The eight Super Regional winners will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, which begins Friday, June 13, at Charles Schwab Field. The NCAA and ESPN will announce first-round game times and matchups for Omaha following the completion of all Super Regional play on Monday.

But first, LSU will look to handle business at The Box this weekend against a the West Virginia squad.
