LSU is currently in recruiting battles for several of the top players in the country in the 2024 class, but has already shown intrigue in a number of the top prospects in the 2025 class as well. As the reigning champs and the team that just hauled in the No. 1 freshman class along with the top two players in the transfer portal, there’s a ton of momentum in the program that the coaching staff hopes to keep on full display throughout the fall with the season about a month away.
LSU head coach Kim Mulkey always has her ties to Texas after coaching at Baylor for two decades and those recruiting connections have made Texas as the second most important state to her in her time at LSU, behind Louisiana. Forward S’Myah Smith was a key player in her first full recruiting class and as a freshman played a significant role in helping the Tigers win a national championship. Now, with the top player in 2025 coming out of the Lone Star State, Mulkey appears intent on making a push to further sink her teeth in the state, by pulling its best talent.
