Could LSU be on the verge of more good recruiting news? Follow the live updates below from St. Francisville (La.) West Feliciana High as four-star defensive back Joel Rogers announces his college decision at 5:30 p.m. CT on Monday.

***Stay tuned below for live updates from The Bengal Tiger’s Shea Dixon.***

*** The West Feliciana High gym is beginning to fill up ahead of the Rogers announcement.

*** Rogers is ranked by On3 as the No. 4 prospect in Louisiana, and a commitment to LSU would give the Tigers six of the current Top 10 prospects in the state. The other four remain uncommitted.

*** Rogers has arrived. There are five hats on the table. Texas, Alabama, TCU, LSU and Tennessee (in that order).

*** The ceremony starts with a prayer. Full gym here.

*** West Feliciana coach Devin Ducote opening things up with some words on what makes Rogers great, highlighting his “intangibles and leadership qualities” first and foremost. Ducote spent multiple years on LSU’s staff as a special team assistant.

*** Rogers’s mom and dad both take the mic and say they support their son in his decision. They just want him to be happy.

*** Rogers takes the mic, and he said it’s the biggest moment of his life to date. He says he’s proud that he never had to do recruiting alone because of his family and community behind him.

*** Rogers stepped behind the screen and returned in LSU gear, announcing his commitment to the Tigers.

“I’m staying home,” Rogers said.

************

Rogers had initially planned to make official visits to three schools: LSU (June 2-4), Alabama (June 9-11) and TCU (June 16-18). Those visit plans changed.

Rogers visited LSU the first weekend of June, but he used it as an unofficial visit. Rogers is expected to use his official visit closer to December’s National Signing Day, sources tell The Bengal Tiger staff.

Rogers is ranked by On3 as a four-star and Top 200 prospect. He checks in as a Top 20 safety in the 2024 class and a Top 5 prospect in Louisiana.

“We liked Joel Rogers’ ability as a two-way playmaker when projecting him as a safety,” said On3 Director of Rankings and Scouting Charles Power. “He’s a high school quarterback who makes a lot of plays with his mobility. We were also impressed with his physicality and striking power on defense. He’s a natural on that side of the ball.”
